WebWriMo Update

With threats of getting the updated word count beaten out of me, not including this post I have generated 12,799 words as of November 17th.  With 13 days to go I will have a lot of work ahead of me to get anywhere close 50,000 words.  I am thinking a 15,000 word essay on Prostate cancer and a 20,000 word essay on the Movember party we are throwing on Movember 29th.

So far according to BlindApeSEO.com, we have some WebWriMo Boyscout called InternetAuthor that has cleared 30,000 words already…. I guess his name is suiting.

It looks as though a lot of people struggle with the same problems I run into, which are thinking up ideas to write about and making your articles long lasting, they seem to peter out around 200 Words… and lately mine have petered out around 100 words.

This is a great challenge though and I am learning a lot.  Mostly I am learning just to write and not try to edit myself while doing it.  For the first 14 or so days of Movember, I didn’t even really know if anyone was reading my site.  In fact, according to my google analytics, people only stayed on my page for a total of 30 seconds before moving on.  But as of today I have an average read time of 3 minutes, and 70% of my traffic (500 unique visitors) are returning readers!  Which means that my unedited posts seem to be a decent read!

So once again I am past the 12,000 word mark and hope that I won’t disappoint with the next 13 days of content!

WebWriMo Update

So I have done quite a few posts since I started also focusing on the WebWriMo.  In fact in a day I have almost doubled the amount of words written I did in the 3 days before.  This is one of the toughest challenges ever, I seriously don’t understand how content writers can do it.  There is only so many topics that I can write about and when I do start writing about them, they peter out around 200 words.  In fact I think I am the king of 200 word blogs.

This being said, not including the post, I now have 3059 words on my blog for November.  That doesn’t include the titles either, so I am sure its around 3100 with titles.

I will continue to try my best to get some more articles done to try and reach my goal of 2000 words a day, but with this post only being around 200 words, thats gonna be a lot of articles!

WebWriMo - Fo Sho…

So, I have been really getting into affiliate marketing.  I started researching it a while ago because I know that my business can profit a lot from knowing the ins and outs of how it works, where to find the right people that can help make the huge difference on the internets and just basically what it is all about.  I would say on a scale from 1 to obsessed, I am pretty obsessed with affiliate marketing.  I started reading a really cool forum that is all about Affiliate Marketing, called Wickedfire.com, and have learned a lot in the short span of time I have been reading the posts there.  I have met some really cool people and have even started working on my own Affiliate Marketing website.  One of those cool people that I met through wicked fire is a guy named Emp, who goes by the title: The Blind Ape.  Don’t ask me why, I really don’t know.  Anyways, he wrote a post about something called the WebWriMo, which when I saw Mo at the end of the word, I HAD to check it out.

The WebWriMo is a spin off from a challenge to Novel Authors, which challenges an author to write 50,000 words in a month on a single Novel but instead of a single novel, the webwrimo focuses on blogs, websites and articles for the net.

So foolishly I thought, well I will be writing everyday, all day, all the time, on MoMoFoSho.com, so I could definitely challenge myself to 50,000 words in a month.

The daily goal of words written is 2000, and I have to tell you it is tough!  I barely make 500 a day so far, IF I  EVEN MAKE THAT! :)  I really do like this challenge though, it will force me to keep focusing on content for MoMo and hopefully some other web ideas that I have been working on.

Emp is keeping track of other people involved on his website about SEO.  When it comes to Search Engine Optimization content is king, as they say!  So this 50,000 webwrimo is a great challenge for people that want to rank well in search engines!  Start a company blog, start a blog about your moustache or start a blog about how cool Greg is and write and write and write!

So not only am I going to be trying to raise $1000 for Prostate Cancer, I am also going to try and write 50,000 words this month as well.. Yikes! Busy Month!

By the way, this blog post is only 433 words long!  Only 1667 more words to go for the day!
