My Friend Kaylin’s Moustache

Posted by Greg Harrison | Moustache Bio | Wednesday 29 October 2008 6:53 pm

I am going to try and do some blogs about people in the world that sport the moustache with pride.  These people can be anyone from My Best Friend Kaylin to Johnny Depp, and I will do my best to get some interesting things to read.

Kaylin

My Best Friend's Moustache

Kaylin's Awesome Moustache

There are many people in this world.. more than 6 billion the last time i checked, but there is only 1 best friend out of those billions of people.. and that person to me is my best friend Kaylin.

Kaylin and I met through a friend when I had first moved to Vancouver when I was 19 years old.  I think the first thing she said to me besides hi, was “So, I found this book in the dumpster in the alley near my house, and its all about communism!”

I knew then and there that we would be friends…

Statements like that were just the tip of the ice berg.  Kaylin and I have had conversations that last hours about what is the king of milkshakes to having her perform her own style of weirdly intriguing theatre art pieces where she climbs through garbage bags and says things that make no sense, which often somehow magically relate to how much you mean to her for your birthday present.

I have always admired Kaylin. She is in no better way to describe it, a trend setter.  She knows about bands that gain mass appeal before anyone else, sometimes I think she knows the bands before the bands even know there in a band.  Her fashion sense is strange to people, but 6 months down the road everyone seems to be wearing a variation of her cool indie rock style getup!  She is interested in things that no one that I know even knows about and she can speak about them so intellectually and passionately that you can’t help but be intrigued.

Halloween or Christmas is a great time for a beard!

Halloween or Christmas is a great time for a beard!

Kaylin has main quirks.  My favorite quirk for sure is the fact that she loves wearing fake moustaches and beards out and about.  She just loves the moustache, thats how she explains it at least.

Her halloween costumes always somehow have a beard, from being Jack Sparro to David Suzuki, she always finds a way to have facial hair!

Kaylin and I unfortunately got seperated when I moved to the Caribbean and when she moved to Montreal, but I know that somewhere in the land of canadian french people someone is seeing a girl sporting a great moustache!

“Regardez la fille avec une moustache” they will say.

Mark my words in 6 months time, they will be wanting to follow this trend and sport a moustache just like my awesomest best friend Kaylin!

Love you Kaylin! Keep on Rocking the Mo! Fo Sho!

You don’t choose the Mo, the Mo chooses you!

What is the perfect Moustache?

I’ll answer that question with a question.  How tall is the tallest midget?

Mind boggled, aren’t you?

FACT: Little People aren’t Care Bears
FACT: On average, 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens every year.
FACT: There is no such thing as the perfect Moustache.

Or is there?

Using deductive reasoning, Science and Mad Skills, I have found that not every moustache is not made equal, but every moustache is equally fucking awesome,  which means that every moustache is perfect as they are all equal in awesomeness.

Although there are people that claim to have the best moustache in the world, these are all false claims as if you do true inner soul searching, you will realize that everyone is unique and therefore every Mo has a unique awesomeness to it that cannot be duplicated or beaten.

This scientific find can be used to better yourself in all situations in life.

Remember the Mo Chooses You and therefor is perfect for you!

Living in a Perfect World: Moustache over night!

Posted by Greg Harrison | Mo Videos | Sunday 26 October 2008 6:07 pm

Growing up, I had a lot of very inspirational idols that I looked up to a lot like Zack Morris, The Frog Brothers from Lost Boys and of course everybody’s hero, The Tick.  These people shaped my future into being the man I am today.. Supa Awesome.  Although no matter what I do I will never live in the perfect world that my Idols did.  Zack got Kelly, The Frog Brothers created a multi-million dollar vampire slaying business and The Tick, well we will get into that in a minute.

Well the world is not fair, sometimes its down right tough, for example, growing a moustache takes time and when shaving, you can get the worst cuts, nicks and the dreaded dry skin.  Moustaches, although great to have are to be honest, a pain to grow and groom.  In a perfect world a moustache would grow in perfectly overnight.

Well, my love for the moustache may have come from my jealousy of the Tick’s ability to grow a perfect moustache over night.  The Tick lives in the perfect world.  Not only can the tick fight crime like no other, he also was able to grow a perfect moustache over night!

“Rugged, Self Assured, Adult.  These are the words that describe a man who wears a moustache.  Yes it says to the world, I’m a man of ACTION! I’m an action, tempured with maturity… Like a fire fighter.. or SOMEBODY’S DAD!” - The Tick

Those my friends, are words to live by!  Although I feel rugged, self assured and adult, I never will be able to have the perfect Mo over night.

But the fact that I won’t have the perfect Mo over night won’t stop me from having the perfect mo.. Fo Sho!  And one day, I hope to be your hero, just like the Tick is mine.

Hi All,

During Movember (the month formerly known as November) I’m growing a Moustache. That’s right I’m bringing the Mo back because I’m passionate about tackling men’s health issues and being proactive in the fight against prostate cancer.

To donate to my Mo you can either:

  1. Click this link https://www.movember.com/us/donate/donate-details.php?action=sponsorlink&rego=1479631&country=us and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account, or
  2. Write a check payable to the ‘Prostate Cancer Foundation’, referencing my Registration Number 1479631 and mailing it to:

Prostate Cancer Foundation
Attn: Movember
1250 Fourth St
Santa Monica, CA, 90401

All donations  are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The money raised by Movember is donated directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation which will use the funds for high-impact research to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

Did you know:

  • Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in the US with one in six American men developing the disease and more than 28,000 men dying of the disease every year.
  • African American men and those with a family history of prostate cancer are twice as likely to develop the disease and should have regular annual testing starting at 45. All other men should commence testing at 50.
  • Prostate cancer is 90% curable if detected and treated early.

For those that have supported Movember in previous years you can be very proud of the impact it has had and can check out the details at:
[ Fundraising Outcomes ]
.

Movember culminates at the end of month Gala Partés. If you would like to be part of this great night you’ll need to purchase a [ Gala Parté Ticket ].

Thanks for your support,

Greg.
